Class Description:
Awaken and deepen your knowledge of women's wisdom. This 11 week series is a class in holistic approaches to supporting new mothers and families in the childbearing year. This unique series of classes incorporates opportunities for discussions and hands on experiences of various modalities and perspectives of women's healing arts with learning from women who are leaders in their field. You will leave this course with tools and techniques to further your own journey supporting women and families.
This class is for aspiring and professional doulas, midwives, healers, and women interested in exploring the healing arts.

You will:
- Learn healing modalities of pregnancy and infant massage and cranial sacral therapy
- Prepare herbal medicines and skin care for women
- Discuss women's nutrition for the childbearing year
- Practice prenatal and postpartum yoga and healing Qi Gong
- Explore our connection to our source of creativity
through activities of intentional arts, song & drumming
- Develop trust and build community through discussions
on communication, ritual, and holding sacred space for birth and beyond
- Recognize our relationship to power and its connection to the cycles and forces of the Earth
Guest Speakers:
- Sobonfu Some, Keeper of Rituals from her tribe in West Africa, and founder of Ancestors Wisdom Spring, will teach about blessingways as well as ritual for transitions and letting go
- Carol Gray, Cranial Sacral Therapist and Midwife will teach a class on healing with cranial sacral therapy for mamas and newborns
- Judy Bluehorse, Herbalist with a native american perspective, will discuss herbs and earth cycles in relationship to women's bodies
- Mara Friedman, Professional Artist of feminine spirit, will lead creating women's sacred art
- Patricia Davis, Choctaw Medicine Woman with a Masters Degree in Peacemaking Leadership, will teach about traditional sacred ceremony and healing
- Suzanne Shaw, Nutritionist and co-author of Healing With Whole Foods, will discuss nutrition for pregnancy and postpartum
- Tina Lily, Yoga Instructor, will teach prenatal yoga
- Muse Lokajickova, Massage Therapist (LMT), making your own herbal massage oils for self and postpartum massage
- Windsong, Singer and Facilitator of intentional women's gatherings, will lead chanting and singing

The course is facilitated primarily by Jacqueline Hope Medford, a certified midwife (CPM), massage therapist, artist, drummer and community organizer.
