Jesse is a DONA-Approved Birth Doula Trainer and offers a warm professional multi-learning style training in a retreat setting at her home classroom on 5 acres near the Powell Butte Nature Preserve in SE Portland, OR. She has trained thousands of aspiring doulas to discover their unique offering as a doula in a wholehearted process of abundance and support.
For over a decade she ran the largest full – service professional doula practice in Portland at Mother Tree and supported thousands of families as a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation educator and birth counselor. In 2103 she took a sabbatical to work with the Providence Health System as a lead doula in their groundbreaking model of maternity care integrating doula care into a team based model with CNM’s and Midwives. She is also a founding member of the Oregon Doula Association (ODA) and works with the Oregon Medicaid Model for Traditional Healthcare Workers. She is a speaker, trainer and change agent for helping implement new models of care to women for hospitals, insurance companies and small private practices and agencies. Jesse has over fifteen years of experience guiding hundreds of families through the childbearing year. As Foundress of Mother Tree Birth Services she guided Mother Tree into the largest professional birth doula practice in Portland, OR supporting thousands of families with birth and postpartum support, childbirth classes and family resources.
As a Lamaze certified childbirth educator, she has taught in all types of settings including Legacy Health System, Adventist Health System, Providence Health System, home birth and the popular Mother Tree Childbirth and Natural Pain Coping Series.

Passionate about the commitment to grow the profession of doula care Jesse joined as a lead doula role in the Providence Health System’s Pregnancy Care Package at Providence Portland Medical Center based at the Providence Maternal Care Clinic. As one of three doulas she is supporting a demonstration model in 2013-14. The Pregnancy Care Package is providing a team-based model of care led by certified nurse midwives working in collaboration with RNs, birth doulas, prenatal health professionals and a consulting OB physician to achieve outstanding quality, patient experience and affordability goals for a diverse patient population. She is confident that we are making doula history and creating possibilities for a sustainable doula profession for many more doulas for years to come.
