Angela Truby
Specializing
in supporting women in natural childbirth and pain coping techniques
for labor. She also has extensive experience in cesarean, VBAC and epidural
birth.
Angela C. Truby, Certified Mother Tree and DONA
doula, has supported women and their families through pregnancy, birth
and postpartum since 2002.
Angela is experienced in using labor positioning to facilitate baby’s
descent and birth. She also offers massage, acupressure and aromatherapy.
The calling to become a doula began with the joyful and transformative
experience of giving birth to her daughter Willa Clare in 2000. Angela
believes deeply in honoring and celebrating each woman’s unique
journey into motherhood.
In addition to her doula role, Angela is pursuing training as a midwife
at Birthingway College of Midwifery. Prior to birthwork, Angela earned
a Masters of Divinity at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley,
California and served as the first female pastor for four rural churches
in Virginia. This experience gave Angela the ability “stand with” people in times of vulnerability and openness, providing emotional support
through childbirth, illness, divorce, death of a loved one, and spiritual
growth. She also has professional experience as a social worker and
Waldorf preschool assistant teacher.
“Angela was a large part of my success in
experiencing a safe and natural childbirth. I have come to know Angela
as an insightful, caring, sensitive, loving and nurturing person. She
inspired me and helped me to feel confident and excited about the imminent
birth of my baby.” ~Eliza Drewa, former doula client
and mother of Paulette
