I believe that every woman's journey into motherhood is unique and it's my personal strength to assist her by creating a safe, loving environment for her to open to her own Mother Nature.

Jesse is a birth and postpartum doula, doula trainer and MamActivist. She specializes in natural birth, cesarean support, vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), breastfeeding support, premature birth and postpartum bonding.

She co-founded Mother Tree Birth Services in 2001 to provide pregnancy, birth and postpartum support for women as well as to help them access their personal power through the birthing process. As a premature 2 pound 9 ounce miracle baby herself, she specializes in supporting families through premature birth experiences and the postpartum bonding.

She assists families in the labor process using pain coping techniques including labor massage, acupressure, aromatherapy and a variety of other relaxation techniques.

She is a certified Lamaze instructor and teaches in a wide variety of settings including hospital and private classes. Her Mother Tree classes assist women in experiencing the power of their bodies, hearts and spirits in the transformation of birth and help partners feel confident about their role in birth.

Jesse is very committed to the professionalism of the doula role. She is a doula trainer, providing advanced mentorship training for doulas of all experience levels. See our mentorship page for more details.

Jesse completed an intensive midwifery curriculum to give her a strong understanding of the physiology of birth. She also received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon and also has ten years experience in event planning. She uses these skills to assist families in preparing joyfully with love, trust, resiliency and authenticity for the sacred journey into parenthood.

Jesse includes birth photos and a birth story for each of her clients complimentary in their birth package.

Jesse is the mother of two boys, Dashiell Thomas, 3, and Juna McKenzie, newborn, and a lively lab named Mocha.
