My dream for every woman who is going to give birth is that they feel empowered by their experience; I believe in women and our ability to give birth; I believe in our capacity to become bigger than our baby’s head, bigger than our fears, bigger than any nay-sayers or doubters. I believe in our deep connection to ourselves, our babies, each other. I believe we can all support each other as we rise to the challenge that is labor and childbirth; as we walk or crawl or grunt and push our way through the awesome rite of passage that is childbirth I believe we become stronger, wilder, more beautiful.

Jennifer is a birth doula, licensed acpununcturist , shiatsu massage therapist and BIRTHING FROM WITHIN® MENTOR. She specializes in natural pain coping techniques and also supports women through cesarean or epidural birth.

Jennifer believes there is a deep place inside all of us in which our greatest greatest strengths live with our greatest fears. Tapping into our heart center is the key to our greatest capacity for health; the secret is that we must walk through our fears in order to find our strengths. We cannot pretend that our fears will magically go away, nor can we afford to continue to let our fears rule our lives if we indeed desire health. It is her goal and desire that we begin the journey to find this place within ourselves, and that once getting there, we discover that we have the trust, will, and compassion to face our fears and walk through them into true health.

Jennifer received her acupuncture and shiatsu training from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She received her doula training from Birthingway School of Midwifery. Jennifer is a member of the Mississippi Health Center as well as a advocate and healer for women in the childbearing year and beyond.
