KARIN STEUER

I specialize in supporting women and their families in their own unique journey whether that includes natural, medication or cesarean birth.

Karin's passion and dedication to women, babies and their families came the moment her son, Charlie was born. Her Doula introduced her to the wonderful pathway of birthwork - the honor to be present while women become mothers and couples expand their families. She trained with DONA international. She is completely dedicated to the service of women as they begin the journey towards labor, birth and motherhood.

Karin's doula experience was honed in a hospital based doula program at Sutter Hospital in Davis, CA. She is also an ICEA member and pursuing her childbirth education certificate. She is a breastfeeding counselor, and has supported women through the WIC program.

She brings a personable style with a professional ethic matured by years as a project manager and art gallery director. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History, University of California, Davis 1990

Her purpose is to be present, supportive, informative and encouraging to assist the mother and partner to achieve their ideal birth utilizing various coping mechanisms. She believes every woman deserves and possesses the inherent strength and knowledge to strive for their ideal birth.

Karin her husband Shawn--who's secret desire is to be a Dad's Doula--and son Charlie also make home to 3 dogs, 2 cats and 3 rats.

She was so excited and nurturing when I announced my pregnancy so I knew she was a special person, even before I knew she was a doula. She was the first woman I encountered that described her labor and delivery as a completely positive experience, and it gave me confidence in my own birth , too.
