Gretchen Kraig Turner My approach as a doula is to provide wholistic pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support. Through this support I strive to facilitate a meaningful, satisfying birth experience for my clients. I offer tools to empower women through education to make sound decisions surrounding their births, and foster healthy, strong bonds between mothers and babies. Gretchen is passionate about giving women the opportunity to be fully supported in a safe, caring evironment so they are able to have the healthy birth and baby they hope for. As a former Research Scientist, Gretchen brings an evidence-based approach and scientific mindset to her role in providing advocacy and prelabor counseling. Preparing for birth can be a challenging experience when trying to navigate the birth literature. Gretchen gives her clients a solid base of knowledge and encourages women to find their own path through birth. She also provides labor pain coping techniques. She specializes in labor positioning, massage and aromatherapy. Gretchen received her doula training with the Seattle Midwifery School, her advanced training with Mother Tree and has a Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology at the University of Washington. In addition to her doula work, Gretchen has 14 years of nanny experience spanning infant to teenager years and has managed a Seattle-based baby store. She is First aid and CPR certified for infants and adults.
