Survival Tips
- Get lots of rest & self-care (naps, meditation,
baths, walks)
- Reach out and build a community & network
of support
- Get adequate nutrition
- Support in breastfeeding (prolactin is a great
postpartum stress reducer)
- Seek family, friends or doula support to give
you adequate breaks
- Make a survival plan and keep to it (structure
to the day)
- Be gentle with yourself and your new baby
- Take care of your spirit: journal writing, art
therapy
- Nurture your sense of humor
- Postpone other major life changes
- Accept your negative feelings
and attend to your positive feelings
