Postpartum
Support:
What
mom can do
- Remember that asking for help does not make you lazy,
crazy or bad. It is your right to have as much help as you desire so
that you can allow your body, mind and spirit to adjust to the new demands
of motherhood.
- Rest as much as you can. REALLY. Just as if you had
had major surgery (of which some women do in the case of cesarean birth)
you cannot rush your recovery. Rest can mean lying down while the baby
sleeps even if you cannot sleep.
- Drink lots of warm herbal teas (support healing and
lactation) and soups to help return the heat to the body and rejuvenate
the body from fatigue.
