A Midwife…
... recognizes that women have the power to birth and assists the mother in accessing her own “Mother Nature.” A midwife also provides the medical support she needs while making empowered decisions throughout her pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Pregnancy and birth is a rite of passage in which mother and child experience a journey of depth, power and transformation. During this process, it is important they receive loving support from community and care providers they can trust.  Midwives are trained to listen to families and encourage them to follow their intuition throughout the natural birth process.

What is a Midwife?

A Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) is an independent practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is qualified to provide the Midwives Model of Care.

The Midwives Model of Care includes:

• monitoring the physical, psychological and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle
• providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care
• continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
• minimizing technological interventions
  
• identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention

The application of this model has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.

This includes all prenatal visits, on-call fee, labor, birth and postpartum care, labor tub rental and Mother Tree Childbirth Seminars. (Laboratory test and ultrasound fees for mom and baby are not included in the midwifery fees.)

Comforting Mama Package: $4200

*Labor Doula: 2 prenatal visits, 1 postpartum visit and continuous labor support at birth or sibling support

*Postpartum Doula Care: breastfeeding support, watching baby while mom sleeps, light house cleaning, cooking snacks for mom, etc.
