It is my desire to provide the space and support for women and their partners to labor and birth the way they choose, and support them in a way that leaves them feeling empowered by their experience, confident of their voice, and boldly and beautifully joining the circle of motherhood.

Carissa discovered the value of birth support during the births of her two girls, Trinity (age 3) and Xandra (age 2). Having experienced both a home and a hospital birth, she brings the strength of bridging both worlds for other mamas. She is passionate about the privilege of supporting women during the childbearing year. She is compassionate, intuitive, and responsive with her stengths in trustworthiness, punctuality and organizational skill.

Carissa is DONA International Certified and successfully completed Mother Tree's six month intensive internship in 2008. She focuses her comfort measures on massage, labor positions, and humor.

An outdoor lover who grew up in Montana, Carissa delights in exploring the city with her girls and takes every opportunity to find a trail and hike, camp and fish. She and her husband are the founders of a local interactive arts events series called The Blue Door. They also own and operate the Coffee Max, on the Max line, making amongst other talents, the perfect Latte.
