our doulas:
Jennifer Trom
Certified Doula

Jennifer has always had a passion for serving women, and has done so in many ways on her life’s journey. Becoming a doula was a natural step for her, providing a direct way to share information and give support to women and their partners, as women become mothers and as couples expand their families.

With the birth of her own children, Jennifer came to understand the power of birth firsthand. It may sound cliché, but the birth of a baby is truly a time of wonder. Jennifer has the ability to emotionally “hold the space” during this intense and precious time, supporting the woman and her choices on the journey towards labor, birth and motherhood. She inherently believes that every woman possesses the natural and internal strength and knowledge to strive for their ideal birth.

She also brings a calming presence, a complete acceptance, and a professional ethic matured by years as a social worker and administrator, Stephen Minister, and mother. Through these experiences, Jennifer has come to understand the importance of “being”, of “walking with” people in their challenges and joys. Providing doula services is simply a time-honored way of “walking with” women through labor and birth.

Jennifer, her husband, Chris, and their two children share their home with 2 cats, 3 fish, and 3 chickens, and learn lessons each day on “living in the moment”.
