"I accompany women in labor to ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. As a birth and postpartum doula, I work for you and your baby, not anybody else. I will assist you and your partner to help 'normalize' certain aspects of the labor, birth and the postpartum experience. "

Stacey was initially inspired to become a birth and postpartum doula through the births of her two children, Adaline and Roan. Since 2002, she has seen hundreds of families blossom into their true parenting selves with simple assurance, education and support. Stacey draws on her knowledge and experience to provide emotional and directional support to provide comfort for a birthing woman and her family.

Trained from the Chapman Family Center in Santa Monica, CA and certified with DONA International, Stacey is highly experienced with a variety of birth and postpartum environments including several years as an assistant to homebirth. Her specialities include: high-risk pregnancy, VBAC, multiples, LGBT families and moms over 40./p>

She helps facilitate the birth journey including communication with hospital staff, reassurance and perspective on the physiological process of natural birth, helping with relaxation, meditation, massage, positioning, visualization or just suggesting something as simple as a cool sip of water. Stacey focuses prenatally on nutritional education, birth plans and practical comfort positioning.

In addition to birth work, she is a Certified Breastfeeding Couselor. Stacey provides support prenatally, immediately post-birth or anytime postpartum (through weaning). She received her training at Birthingway College of Midwifery and focuses on non-interrupted counseling: listening to the mother and baby to find the best ways to meet the needs of both. Breastfeeding support includes: proper latch, positioning issues, milk production, nursing multiples,return-to-work plans, pumping schedules and weaning.
